Listener’s Pledge

A promise to listen with presence — and to treat songs as human work, not background noise.

I will listen like a person is speaking to me.

I will give a song a fair moment before I judge it.

I will let the meaning meet me where I am — not where I think I’m supposed to be.

I will not rush someone else’s heartbreak, healing, or hope.

I will respect silence, subtlety, and truths that don’t shout.

I will remember that the greatest songs are not always the loudest — they are the ones that stay.

And when a song helps me carry life, I will honor it.

Listening is participation. Meaning lives in the space between the song and the listener. This pledge protects that space.
